Maybe there are days when you feel like you just can’t cope with the pain. Maybe you are spending a lot of your day worrying about the future.
You’re not alone as chronic pain affects 18% of the Canadian population.
Chronic pain may be negatively impacting your quality of life, your relationships, your career, forcing you to change your roles, your mood, your activity level, your sleep and your social life.
Vivian Steele, Registered Psychologist has a Post Graduate Certificate in Chronic Pain Management. She offers ten sessions based on a biopsychosocial approach that focuses on pain management strategies and skill building to support living a better quality of life with pain. You can expect that your first session will be an opportunity for Vivian to understand your chronic pain, you will receive some education, you will then be guided through skill building techniques and strategies, and then you will be guided to developing your own plan, working through implementing and maintaining your plan, and living with chronic pain.

Rehabilitation
Vivian Steele and Lisa Porret provide the Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP) that can be offered to someone experiencing a debilitating health or mental health condition such as depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, musculoskeletal injuries, chronic low back pain and fibromyalgia.
The primary goals of PGAP are to reduce psychosocial barriers to rehabilitation progress, promote re-integration into life-role activities, increase quality of life, and facilitate return-to-work. These goals are achieved through targeted treatment of psychosocial risk factors, structured activity scheduling, graded-activity involvement, goal-setting, problem solving, and motivational enhancement.
