Your psychologist, Lisa Porret or Vivian Steele will assess and gain insight into your family’s patterns of interactions.
Family therapy will assist in opening communication between family members. Each family member will have an opportunity to speak and listen. Therapy provides an environment for this to happen free from having to defend oneself and one’s perspective. By allowing this important part of communication to happen it creates an opportunity for each family member to become more informed and understanding of each other’s point of view. No one person is blamed and each family member is treated with respect for their own points of view.
We then work collaboratively toward making positive and healthy changes as viewed by you and your family. An understanding of how behaviors of different family members fit together is developed. Each person is expected to do their part in creating change.
Your Psychologist, Lisa Porret or Vivian Steele may work with you on your communication style, understanding your relational dynamics, boundaries, self-control, accountability and responsibility, conflict resolution, self-worth and self-respect, and navigating changes in your relationship.
