Maybe you experienced a traumatic event at your work, in your childhood or experienced violence or sexual assault where there was an actual or threatened death, serious injury or sexual violation.
Maybe you notice instead of things getting better you may notice things getting worse. Maybe you are re-experiencing the event over and over through nightmares, scary dreams or flashbacks. Maybe you notice you are having difficulties falling or staying asleep, being irritable or having outbursts of anger, have difficulty concentrating and startle easily. Maybe you notice your mood has changed as a result of the traumatic event. You may notice you are persistently negative, feel guilt, shame, sad or fearful. Maybe you find it hard to feel positive emotions and have shut-down negative feelings. Maybe you notice you are avoiding things that remind you of the traumatic event. Maybe to the point you notice these symptoms have been changing how you are living your life.
